Dr. Shannon Andrus is a writing trainer and coach with over 20 years’ experience helping individuals improve their written communication skills. She delivers high-energy and interactive virtual and in-person courses. Her sessions are designed to strengthen composition skills, refresh knowledge of English grammar and mechanics, and improve participants’ ability to organize and revise writing effectively. Shannon’s digital communication instruction focuses on how to communicate clearly and appropriately through email and to use social media effectively in the professional world. In addition, Shannon provides coaching and training on gender and communication in the workplace.

Shannon earned her B.A. in English Literature from Georgetown University, graduating with honors. She earned her master’s degree in liberal studies in the Great Books Program at St. John’s College and holds a doctorate in education from the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, she taught courses in qualitative research and also worked as a research and writing coach for doctoral students. She is the co-author of Teaching Girls Well: How Teachers and Parents Can Reach Their Brains and Hearts.
